PC | Download Risen

Risen is a single-player fantasy-themed action role-playing game[2] by the German company Piranha Bytes, and published by Deep Silver. Piranha Bytes itself developed the Windows version[3], which was released on October 2, 2009, along with the European version of the Xbox 360 port[1]. The Xbox 360 port has been outsourced to an experienced external console team under the close supervision of Piranha Bytes[3]. The North American version of the Xbox 360 port has been delayed to "early 2010"[1].

Risen has up till now received conflicting reception due to massive technical differences between the PC and Xbox 360 versions with the PC version mostly praised while the Xbox 360 version is panned as technically inferior. The scores range from Eurogamer giving the Xbox 360 version only 4 out of 10[13] whereas the PC version received 8.6/10 by IGN[14] and 85/100 by PC Zone[15]. Eurogamer noted that "It's something of a tragedy, since there's clearly a really good RPG buried under all this technical mediocrity" while PC Zone concluded that "Risen is a solid, engrossing and beautifully presented RPG that's well worth your time and money". IGN praised the game for its hard yet rewarding gameplay, impressive graphics and solid voice-acting, yet still pointed to the combat mechanics being messy while fighting hordes but mentioned "...you'll get better at it as you bump up your skill with a preferred weapon type and unlock new moves, making the experience even easier, though it never quite feels as natural as it should" .

In similar ways, many reviewers have praised the game and many have panned it. It is worthy of noting the differences between the PC and Xbox 360 version when referring to the scores. Risen has a Metacritic Rating of 58/100 for the Xbox 360 version[16] and 79/100 for the PC version[17].(last checked date 10/16/09)

It is to be noted that the game has garnered positive points opposing to Piranha Bytes' previous title, Gothic 3 which received poor reviews for its pervasive bugs and unrealized gameplay. IGN noted that "It's quite a recovery for Piranha Bytes from the technical mess that was Gothic 3" and that "Piranha Bytes redeems itself with this standout role-playing experience".

It was released on October 26, 2010 in North America, October 28, 2010 in Australia and October 29, 2010 in Europe. The game is based on the two brands of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), Raw and SmackDown.
 
One of the main changes in the game is the incorporation of a new physics system that allows objects to be used more realistically, such as objects involved in the Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match. Tables now break differently depending on the impact placed upon them. 
 
Inside and outside the ring, ladders can now be rested onto the ring ropes and be broken into pieces. For the first time since the original WWE SmackDown! vs. Raw game, chairs can be thrown at the player's opponents.

The Hell in a Cell match was revamped with expanded cell walls, weapons underneath the ring, steel steps near the poles, and the removal of the cell door. In addition, new ways to exit the cell were introduced, such as barreling through the cage wall.
 
For the first time since WWE SmackDown! Shut Your Mouth, the player can roam freely around the backstage areas in the game's primary story mode, though the ability to roam during matches has not returned to the series. Moves and controls are modified to incorporate new options to perform during and after a move is executed. The strong grapple modifier has been revamped to allow the player to perform more powerful moves on the opponent as the player progresses into the match and wears down the opponent. There are new announce table moves like a moonsault from the ring to the prone opponent

Instructions:
Step 1: Extract all of the files to some directory.
Step 2: You will need an ISO image of the game you want to run.
Step 3: You will need to use a tool such as xISO (Yursoft) to extract all of the files in the ISO.  Step 4: Make sure to preserve the directory structure inside the ISO file when extracting.
Step 5: Start up Xeon.exe and select File->Load XBE.
Step 6: Navigate to the directory where you extracted the ISO and select the default .xbe file.
Step 7: You can also supply the XBE filename as a command-line argument to Xeon.exe and it will be loaded  automatically.
Step 8: Play & Enjoy.
